Abstract

The initiative to address issues related to violence against women provided the challenge of working with the issue of gender inequality, providing domestic violence, emphasizing the culture of rape in today's society. It aims to report on the object of study and the historicity of the power exercised by men over women, as well as the aspects that provide this lack of awareness about the inequalities between men and women, highlighting the Maria da Penha law. The methodology used will be data information made on the basis of the Scielo and Google academic site, in order to provide the theoretical basis necessary for the construction of this work, followed by the reflections carried out through the qualitative, bibliographic and exploratory researches, evidencing the strategies used by Women, in confronting the various situations of aggression in various spheres, both in the family and in the interpersonal relationships with friends and neighbors. And also with respect to the work environment, and finally the main characteristic of these aggressions, that is, the culture of rape, measured by 6 machismo, which is structured in the social system in which men have primary power and predominate in leadership roles And authority over women and children, that is, patriarchal power.
