Orientações quanto ao aleitamento materno no período do pré-natal

Abstract

Introduction: The patient's participation in prenatal care is of great value as it is the period when she will add expertise and advice given by health professionals. General Objective: To analyze the guidelines given by health professionals to pregnant women about breastfeeding during the prenatal period and verify if these guidelines are efficient to ensure the health of the lactating. Specific Objectives: To verify if health professionals apply the literature and rules related to breastfeeding guidelines in the prenatal period; verify if the mothers understand the information provided by health professionals. Method: This is a quantitative survey, conducted through questionnaires with 08 issues applied to a group of 36 pregnant women; the application took place in Hospital Regional do Gama, DF. The results were submitted to simple statistical analysis, and presented in tables and graphs. Result: 75% of women said they received guidance on breastfeeding in the prenatal period. Conclusion: Based on data analysis, it is concluded that most pregnant women received guidance on breastfeeding, but not all pregnant women made use of the knowledge gained.
