Enfermagem nas práticas de terapias alternativas/complementares: revisão integrativa

Abstract

OBJECTIVE: To carry out an integrative review of the national nursing literature on integrative health practices. METHODS: This is an integrative review, a survey of articles in the databases LILACS, SCIELO and BDENF, published in the period 2006-2016, being selected to the final 17 articles for analysis and discussion. ANALYSIS AND DISCUSSION: As for the year of publication, it was found that years with more publications on the subject were - 2008, 2009, 2011, 2012 and 2013 focusing 14 (81,64%) publications. The nurse is trained on a holistic basis, maintains a direct and long-term contact with the patient, thus having a fundamental role in providing information on alternative / complementary therapies as a therapeutic option. The main themes discussed in the articles were the nursing inserted in the alternative / complementary therapies the teaching of alternative / complementary therapies in nursing schools. In this way, it is essential to introduce this subject from the academic life, with the aim of providing future professionals with knowledge about these practices in order to propagate them. FINAL CONSIDERATIONS: It is up to the professional nurse to develop a relationship of trust and health education with the population for the use and explanation of alternative and complementary therapies, maintaining an integral care, seeing the patient as a whole. Nursing should invest in further studies on the subject to strengthen the implementation of these therapeutic practices focused on patient care and health promotion in the Unified Health System.
