Tendências tecnológicas ligadas à utilização das células fotovoltaicas

Abstract

The global energy consumption panorama has been driving research related to alternative energy sources that reduce the recurring environmental problems. Within this scenario, studies on photovoltaic cells, which have clean, sustainable and increasingly promising technology have stood out. The photovoltaic cells are divided into three generations: the first produced through silicon, the second, are those made of inorganic thin films and the third that is in the process of development, is concerned with the abundance of materials used in their manufacture, being non-polluting, light, flexible and efficient in capturing energy. To identify the technological trends of solar energy it is necessary to study the functioning of photovoltaic cells made of silicon and those of third generation, comparing the two categories.
