Perfil nutricional de bebês em fase de introdução alimentar

Abstract

Objective: To evaluate the nutritional status of children with different feeding methods. Methods: A cross - sectional study was carried out with a convenience sample, in the period of April 2019. The anthropometry of 3 children in a complementary food introduction was carried out, which were part of the UCB research project DOMAN. In order to trace the nutritional profile, the stature / age (E / I) and weight / height (P / E) indices expressed as Z scores were used according to the Nutrition Surveillance System (SISVAN) . Results: Child "A" started introducing early feeding with 5 months using mixed method (BLW and traditional), presented low stature and low weight according to the P / E and E / I indicators. The two children "B" and "C" used the traditional method, they have the P / E and E / I eutrophic indicators, but the "B" child, id not reach progress in the consistency of the foods, having aversion to solid foods, the child "C" reached the correct consistency, however, there is an offer of industrialized foods with high sugar and sodium content. Conclusions: It was verified that the children who followed the traditional method in the introduction of complementary feeding, presented a nutritional profile of adequate stature and eutrophic weight, while the child who followed the mixed feed introduction method (BLW and the traditional method), resented a nutritional profile of short stature and thinness according to the growth curve.
