O uso da ventilação positiva na reabilitação pulmonar em pacientes DPOC

Abstract

This research enphasizes the Pulmonary Rehabilitation (PR) discussing the use of a ventilatory suport to positive pressure associated to Pulmonary Rehabilitation (PR). The aim of this research is to analyse, through a bibliogragraphic review, the benefits of the PR and the benefits of the PR associated to the use of positive pressure by noninvasive ventilation, avaluating the relationship between cost and benefit of acquiring the high cost of its breathness during a program of PR for patients with COPD. Therefore, it is presented the history of PR, based on the concepts and researches of diferent authors. It focuses the use the PR with patiets with COPD, wich also can be used with patients with other chronic lung conditions such as interstitial diseases, cystic fibrosis, bronchiectasias, thoracic cage abnormalities, and neuromuscular disorders and recovery from surgical interventions such as lung transplantation. The methodology of this study was due to the bibliographic review with datas obtained from the MEDLINE (National Library Medicine). Thus, this study shows to various patients that this PR done without the ventilatory assistence is enough to reach the benefits on exercice tolerance. On the other hand, for patients with severe COPD and who need a domicialiry ventilatory suport, the association of the PR with the noinvasive positive pressure ventilation is healthy and advisible. As a result, as it is still needed more studies to avaluate the benefits of the positive pressure used to improve the PR’s effects, it is questioned the relationship between cost and benefit.
