Aplicação da pressão positiva contínua nas vias aéreas (CPAP) em pacientes com crise de asma

Abstract

Introduction: The NIMV is becoming each time more important on treatment of asmatic pacients, however is still discused a more eficient method. Objective: Verify the atuation of NIMV as a coadjuvant on treatment of pacients with asmatic crisis. Materials and Methods: Where evaluated 8 adult pacients with acute and/or sub acute asmatic crisis of both sex, between December 2002 to April 2003 on Armed Forces Hospital. The data colect was done on each pacient in three differents situations: in the first situation with bronchodilation inhalation, on the second with bronchodilators inhalation associated with CPAP and the third colect using primaly the bronchodilation and CPAP later, choosing the order with randomization criterious. The PFE were measured before the intervention, imediatly, 5 and 10 minutes after the intervention. Besides, were analized the respiratoru frequence, pulmonar hearing and respiratory muscular work after each intervention. The data colected were statisticly showed with Pearson correlation and Student Test T on pairs, considering significant statistic difference when p ≤ 0,05. Resoults: Significant resoults were found on the colect that used CPAP, and the using of CPAP after the bronchodilation medicine with medicine showed even better resoults. Conclusion: Were concluded that the better treatment methods for asmatic pacients are the one that associate bronchodilator medicine with CPAP, but CPAP used after the medicine inhalation was statisticly more significant. Were concluded too that the biggest values of PFE are the ones imediatly colected after the procedure.
