A influência da Liga Roraimense de Combate ao Câncer na vida das mulheres em tratamento oncológico: um relato de experiência

Abstract

This is a descriptive study of the experience report type that aims to describe the experience lived in the League of Cancer Roraimense (LRCC) as a student of voluntary psychology. This experience began in 2013 and lasted until 2018, through a partnership between the university and the institution. Visits, observations, contacts and informal conversations were carried out with the users and the multidisciplinary team in order to identify the influence of the activities of the LRCC on the lives of women undergoing cancer treatment. The LRCC seeks to raise awareness and motivate the population to fight cancer through prophylactic campaigns, provide free assistance to people undergoing cancer treatment and articulates with the public authorities to expand their actions. In the moments of coexistence, besides the nurses and social worker, there is the participation of doctors and the administrative team. The users are expecting this meeting, because there is interaction, exchange of experiences and mutual help, because they have the opportunity to tell how they are, what is the impact of the disease on their lives and how is the treatment. The performance of the LRCC favors the integrality of care, as it is based on the identification and consideration of needs, not only physical and biological, but emotional, social and cultural, contributing to the improvement of care quality and general well-being of female users of your services.
