A visão bolsonarista para a política externa e seus efeitos no relacionamento Brasil-China (2018-2020)

Abstract

This paper aims to carry out an analysis based on the International Relations view about the vision of the current Brazilian government, led by President Jair Bolsonaro, for foreign policy and its resulting effects on the relationship between Brazil and Chi-na. For a better understanding of this phenomenon, it was first presented the emer-gence and maintenance of traditional principles of Brazilian foreign policy with the intention of establishing a comparative framework between the historical accumula-tion and the current foreign policy. Then, an analysis is made of the current dynamics of the Bolsonaro government and its vision for foreign policy, seeking to identify the motivations that led to the popular acceptance of this new discourse, in addition to identifying the currents of opinion and influence existing in the government. Finally, the effects and re-percussions of this new strategy on the bilateral relationship be-tween Brazil and China are presented, reflecting on its possible long-term conse-quences. To make the study feasible, an exploratory research was carried out, con-sidering the topicality of the theme, combined with a bibliographic review, to better define the traditional principles of Brazilian foreign policy. For the analysis of the phenomenon, the study used the descriptive and explanatory analytical methods, detailing and describing the current foreign policy and identifying the factors that de-termine and contribute to the occurrence of this phenomenon, to then explain the ef-fects of the changes that occurred in the relationship between Brazil and China.
