| Summary: | O presente estudo tem como objetivo analisar as relações entre os Estados Unidos e a América Latina desde o século XIX, com o início da busca por hegemonia estadunidense, até meados da década de 1980. A metodologia utilizada será a pesquisa bibliográfica exploratória em fontes secundárias, tendo como principais autores: Moniz Bandeira (1998), Schilling (2002) e Schoults (2000) para auxiliar no desenvolvimento de temas como a construção do imperialismo estadunidense a partir das relações entre EUA e Caribe, as mudanças de postura dos EUA pós Segunda Guerra, em especial, na América Latina, e a influência e contradição norte-americana no apoio às ditaduras na América Latina. |
| Abstract: | The present study aims to analyze the relations between the United States and Latin America since the 19th Century, with the beginning of the search for American hegemony until the mid-1980s. The methodology used will be exploratory bibliographic research in secondary sources, having as main authors: Moniz Bandeira (1998), Schilling (2002) and Schoults (2000) to help in the development of themes such as the construction of US imperialism based on relations between the United States and the Caribbean, the changes in the posture of the US post-Second World War, especially in Latin America, and the North American influence and contradictions in supporting dictatorships in Latin America. |
