O antissemitismo na era Vargas: aspectos gerais de compreensão da política externa brasileira nos anos de 1930 e 1940

Abstract

This final paper has as its theme Anti-Semitism in the Vargas Era: general aspects of understanding Brazilian foreign policy in the 1930s and 1940s, with the objective of presenting to the reader a more general view of what was the Vargas period despite anti-Semitism in his government. In this way, international relations were analyzed and observed in the period of 1930 and 1940, detecting factors that influenced the changes that Brazilian foreign policy suffered with the anti-Semitism movement, and how the attitudes of the Brazilian authorities contributed in part to sectors of the political elites and the intelligentsia conceiving the Jews as the source of all the evils of the modern world. The choice of the present theme was designed in order to expose the authoritarianism and prejudice that the government of the time was watered. A government that was fed by fallacies and lies through a nationalist sentiment, so that power was controlled one hundred percent
