Eficácia da oclusão vascular no ganho de força de quadríceps femoral em pacientes submetidos a reconstrução do ligamento cruzado anterior

Abstract

Vascular occlusion is a technique that was developed in 1966, which aims to partially restrict blood flow during physical exercise. The objective of this study was to investigate the evidence regarding the effectiveness of the vascular occlusion technique for gaining strength in the quadriceps femoris in patients undergoing reconstruction of the anterior cruciate ligament. Method: A search was carried out in the electronic databases PUBMED, SCIELO, LILACS and PEDRO, which addressed the method of vascular occlusion in patients undergoing reconstruction surgeries of the anterior cruciate ligament. Results: During the search, 79 articles were found and, at the end of the selection, four articles met the inclusion criteria. Conclusion: Rehabilitation using vascular occlusion training is an alternative for muscle hypertrophy and less joint stress, requiring the development of new studies that prove its effectiveness for the studied public.
