Saúde encarcerada, pré-natal no sistema prisional brasileiro: revisão integrativa

Abstract

Describe, from the point of view, the scientific articles about the experience and challenges faced by pregnant women deprived of liberty in Brazil during prenatal care. Objective: To analyze national publications related to the problems of prenatal care offered to women deprived of their liberty. Method: This is an integrative review with systematic data analysis focusing on the following research problem: “How does prenatal care occur in the Brazilian prison system and the problems faced by these pregnant women?” The data used in the present study were obtained from the BVS, PORTAL CAPES and PUBMED. Results: The search included 279 studies, where, after analyzing the inclusion and exclusion criteria with analytical reading, 10 studies were selected. Conclusion: The lack of compliance with current legislation was highlighted, especially in relation to the rights of pregnant women in the prison system. Failure to comply with the minimum number of prenatal consultations and, in addition, difficulties in accessing vaccines, ultrasounds, laboratory tests, lack of early diagnosis of diseases, further aggravate the situation. Most institutions make adjustments and adaptations to comply with what is recommended by Brazilian legislation. Consequently, the rights of women and children are ignored and reinforce the marginalization of this population.
