Implicações da educação ao pensamento desenvolvimentista: uma revisão histórica e paradigmática

Abstract

This paper has two main objectives: review developmentalist thinking in its theoretical foundations and analyze the role of education in the evolution of this thought. The research examines when social variables began to be considered in the calculation of development, expanding the issue beyond economic growth. Initially, the study explores the roots of underdevelopment through the world-systems perspective of Immanuel Wallerstein, highlighting the division between industrialized countries and primary-exporting countries. Additionally, it critiques the evolution of post-World War II developmental paradigms nfluenced by the United States. It argues that, since the end of the 20th century, there has been an international consensus to combine economic growth with human development, with education being fundamental to any developmental goal. The study covers the 20th century and the turn of the millennium, focusing on Brazil during the government of Fernando Henrique Cardoso, highlighting the combination of economic and human development. The research is bibliographical and documentary, with a qualitative and descriptive approach.
