Processo de securitização do discurso político do partido Alternative für Deutschland (AFD) sobre questão migratória na Alemanha sob a influência do pós 11 de setembro

Abstract

Migration to Germany has been a central theme in the country's social, political and cultural transformations, especially after the attacks of September 11, 2001, which influenced the perception of immigration as a security issue. This scenario has favored the rise of security discourses, in which immigration is treated as a threat to national stability. This paper aims to analyse what repercussions the ‘War on Terror’ has had on the international environment, especially in Germany, and how Securitization Theory helps to understand this phenomenon, from the perspectives of authors Barry Buzan, Steve Marsh and Wyn Rees. The Alternative for Germany (AfD) party stands out in this context by using a strongly securitizing rhetoric, associating immigrants, especially Muslims, with risks to security, culture and social cohesion, which authors such as Simon Green, Frank Decker and Florian Hartleb focus on in this study. The methodology used will focus on analyzing the discourse of one of the party's main voices, Gottfried Curio, and official AFD posts on Instagram, in order to understand how the AfD constructs this narrative, the rhetorical mechanisms it employs and how the security discourse works as a political strategy to mobilize voters and legitimize more restrictive migration policies.
