Abstract

This present work will present the environment policy of SIDS (Small Island Developing States) to mitigate the effects of climate change in their territory. Accordingly, to achieve this general object, initially will be presented a brief historic of climate change, some concepts and the relevance of climate change for international relations. The second chapter will explain and define SIDS, as well as their vulnerabilities and its coalization – AOSIS – and the last chapter will define some types of environmental policy, as well as, its importance and the two major programs created from environmental policy to support SIDS. Lastly, concepts of the pluralism vision of international relations and the question of globalization will be used to deepen the knowledge about environmental politics.
