As implicações dos acordos de Oslo para Israel

Abstract

The Oslo Accords (1993), officially called the Declaration of Principles (DOP), was an attempt to address the historical conflict, in the Palestine region, between the State of Israel and the Palestinian Arabs, represented by the Palestine Liberation Organization. The importance of the DOP was the establishment of a new dynamic for the relationship between the two people in an anarchic and lawless environment. By means of the DOP, for the first time, Israelis and Palestinian Arabs commit to negotiate directly, to reach peace and safety, in a good manner to resolve their litigation and interests. The secret negotiations of Oslo intended to establish an independent Palestinian government, which in good relationship with Israel would foster a peaceful coexistence. At the time of the Oslo Accords sought to resolve the conflict between Israel and the Palestinians and establish an environment of security and peace. However, such a result was never achieved and a state of violence has arisen to reach from time to time the state of war. In despite of that, Israel insists in negotiate a solution based upon the Declaration of Principles, as an instrument of power. The present work aims to recognize the meaning of the Oslo Accords to Israel and the implications of these Accords to that State.
